Hlaváčková and Hradecká fail to win Australian Open

In tennis, Czech women’s doubles pair Andrea Hlaváčková and Lucie Hradecká have failed to win the Australian Open. The Czech seventh seeds were defeated by the Swiss-Indian pairing Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza 7-6, 6-3 in Friday’s final. The only Czech to remain in the tournament is Radek Štěpánek, who advanced to the last round of the Men’s Doubles at the Australian Open together with his Canadian partner Daniel Nestor. They will face Brit Jamie Murray and Brazilian Bruno Soares in the final on Saturday.
