First known case of embryo mix-up at Czech fertility clinic reported

The State Institute for Drug Control is investigating a case in which two embryos were mixed up at a Czech fertility clinic, Blesk.cz reported. A spokesperson for the agency said that the first known case of its kind in the Czech Republic was likely caused by human error. The case took place last year and the clinic involved itself reported the suspicion that a mix-up had taken place. When the investigation is completed it will be clearer whether the clinic will face sanctions, the Institute said.
